If you currently suffer from loose skin and stubborn fat areas, a Tummy Tuck, Hourglass Tummy Tuck or a Tummy Tuck 360 (Combining LIPO360 – Circumference Liposuction) can be a great solution. Tummy tuck surgery involves removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, often with tightening of abdominal wall muscles. combined with LIPO 360, removing fat from back, love handles and abdomen to achieve a beautiful hourglass shape.

Maryland Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Sheilah A. Lynch
offers tummy tuck surgery to patients looking to create a more aesthetically pleasing abdominal appearance.
Tummy tuck 360 or Hourglass Tummy Tuck procedures when combined with BBL surgery
can help to create a complete all over beautiful look.

Tummy Tuck 360

Consider a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) if you have loose, sagging abdominal skin frequently associated with the relaxation of the stomach muscles (most common in women who have had multiple pregnancies or prior surgery). Tummy tuck surgery can also help if you cannot tighten your abdominal skin with exercise or have excess skin or stretch marks. A full tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) will give you a smoother, flatter stomach, returning to your youthful figure. Something also to consider is LIPO360.

A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is usually performed under general anesthesia. Various types of abdominoplasties can be done, and Dr. Sheilah A. Lynch will discuss this with you at your consultation.  Mini-abdominoplasties can sometimes be performed under sedation and local anesthesia.

Your Consult

During your initial consultation, you and Dr. Lynch will work together to discuss your concerns and desired results. Dr. Lynch will examine you as well as take photographs to help with the planning and performing of your tummy tuck surgery. Finally, you’ll receive important instructions to prepare for your procedure, a quote, and an explanation of the results you can expect to achieve.

The Procedure

A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is performed under general anesthesia. There are a variety of types of abdominoplasties including a Mini Abdominoplasty (removal of excess skin of the lower abdomen without tightening of the muscle), Standard Abdominoplasty (removal of excess skin with tightening of the muscle), and Extended Abdominoplasty (same as a standard abdominoplasty but includes removal of excess skin from the flanks/hips region) that can be done as Dr. Sheilah A. Lynch will discuss these options with you at your consultation.

Your Recovery

Abdominoplasty usually requires more time for your recovery. Most patients can start moving and walking within one to two days. The patient will go home wearing a compression garment covering the abdominal area. This may be an abdominal binder (wrap with Velcro) or a body suit with zippers. Compression is advised for about a month as it helps reduce swelling. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication.  You may have a drain that will need to be removed at your follow up appointment. The sutures are removed within 9 to 11 days in our office.

After Your Surgery (Post)

Light activity is comfortable in 3 to 5 days. Low impact exercise such as stationary bike and walking on a treadmill or outside is comfortable at 2 weeks. Higher impact cardio such as running, jogging and higher impact sports will not be comfortable for about 4 weeks. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call us.

2 Treatments in One

First – Lipo360, or Liposuction, also known as “circumferential liposuction,” is a surgical procedure removing unwanted, stubborn fat from your abdomen, love handles, and back.

Second – while combining Lipo360 with a traditional tummy tuck procedure that involves removing skin and excess fat from below the belly button and re-tightening abdominal muscles.

Both procedures, the tummy tuck and liposuction are two of the most popular and requested body contouring plastic surgeries in America today.  While they both can do wonders, addressing only a single area may not provide the degree of body sculpting most patients are looking for. The traditional tummy tuck procedure will tighten and correct your abdomen but, unfortunately, it does little to nothing to change the appearance of your love handles or lower back. Now, with the Tummy Tuck 360 you can look spectacular from the back as well as from your front. This revolutionary combination can help you look fabulous from every angle. Tummy Tuck 360 combines circumferential liposuction of the trunk (back, love handles/flanks, and abdomen) with the traditional tummy tuck to create a truly dramatic re-contouring and restoration of your entire mid-section.

Traditional Liposuction can eliminate fat almost anywhere on the body. However, sometimes fat removal may be the focus of other pockets of fat. In the past, in some patients, if excess fat from the front of the abdomen was removed, but fat still remained on your back, sides and bra roll, combined with loose skin what options did a patient have?

So, instead of only relying on liposuction to remove fat from a single area, LIPO 360 will give fantastic results by treating the entire midsection and back. This includes liposuction of the upper abdomen, lower abdomen, mons, waist, flanks, back and bra rolls. Body contouring all the areas of extra fat and smooth out the body from all directions. The treatment improves multiple areas at one time, creating a curvier, more contoured figure that looks great from every angle. Combining LIPO 360 with a tummy tuck creates a balanced, proportional figure all the way around.

Differences Between Traditional Tummy Tuck vs. Tummy Tuck 360

An “Abdominoplasty” or a tummy tuck procedure basically is removing excess skin and fat deposits from below your belly button and re-tightening the abdominal muscles. Adding LIPO 360, also known as “circumferential liposuction,”  involves more comprehensive sculpting techniques. 360-degree liposculpture combines the fat removal from the entire midsection of the abdomen, waistline, love handles and back to achieve a curvier, more hourglass contoured figure.  The revolutionary Tummy Tuck 360 combines the standard abdominoplasty procedure with LIPO 360 to remove excess fat from your love handles, flanks, and back fat as well as upper and lower abdomen.

What is Tummy Tuck 360 or Hourglass Tummy Tuck Surgery?

This latest procedure is a great option for those patients looking to restore their pre-baby bodies, and finding that the traditional tummy tuck was only doing half the job. If these patients really desired to get their “before baby body” back, changes needed to be made on their entire mid-section, both in the front and  back. The Tummy Tuck 360 addresses many of the issues many women have with their bodies after pregnancy’s to include bra rolls, back fat, stomach pooch, muffin tops, excess skin, etc. After receiving this procedure, some patients waistlines look even better after their procedure than they did before pregnancy.

Benefits of a Tummy Tuck 360

This procedure permanently removes fat cells, changing the shape of your body, and significantly improving your core appearance. Tummy Tuck 360 can give you a more custom and individualized option for your body sculpting procedure.

Different Types of Tummy Tuck Surgeries

• Mini Abdominoplasty

Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery addresses the lower portion of the abdomen and has the shortest incision. Liposuction is usually performed in the upper and lower abdomen but skin is only removed from the lower abdomen.

• Standard Abdominoplasty

Standard Tummy Tuck Surgery helps with the upper and lower abdomen and includes tightening of the muscles, removal of excess skin, and liposuction for contouring. The incision for this procedure is low and usually stays within the hip bones.

• Extended Abdominoplasty

Extended Tummy Tuck Surgery addressees all the same things as standard abdominoplasty, but also removes additional excess skin of the flanks/hips region. This procedure is usually reserved for those that have had massive weight loss. This incision is the longest and extends beyond the hip bones and onto the hip (hidden in the bikini line).

Abdominoplasty usually requires more time for your recovery. Most patients can start moving and walking within one to two days. Light activity is comfortable in 3 to 5 days. Stationary bike and walking on a treadmill or outside is comfortable at 2 weeks and running, jogging and higher impact sports will not be comfortable for about 4 weeks.
