After completing her training in General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Brown University, Dr. Lynch completed specialty fellowship training in Cosmetic and Breast Surgery at Georgetown University, where she is presently a Clinical Instructor. Her special interests are in breast surgery, including breast implant replacement and capsular contracture correction, augmentation, reduction, and lifts. Recognized as Washingtonian’s The Face of Neck Lifts, facial and neck balancing with injectables and surgical corrections are among her many specialties. Dr. Lynch specializes in minimal incision facelifts, eyelid surgery, jawline restoration, and neck / lower lifting. She is also well known for her expertise in body contouring, including liposuction 360, tummy tuck, Brazilian butt lift, medial and lateral thigh lift, and arm lift surgery.
Maryland Plastic Surgeon Sheilah A Lynch MD has taken a special interest in cosmetic surgery and has written chapters in the plastic surgery text Plastic Surgery Secrets. Her work with Reversed Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) with autologous (your tissue) breast augmentation was presented in Taormina, Italy, Istanbul, Turkey, and Newport, Rhode Island.
As a Maryland native, Dr. Lynch received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, in Microbiology/Biology. She subsequently received her Masters Degree in Anatomy from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She was inducted into both Phi Sigma and Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Societies. Her Doctorate of Medicine was received from Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she was inducted in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
While completing her residency training at Brown University, Dr. Sheilah A. Lynch studied Craniofacial surgery in the Australian Craniofacial Unit in Adelaide, Australia. She also trained in Boston studying congenital hand surgery and in Miami studying facial balancing techniques (chin implants, nose reshaping, jawline correction, face and neck lift surgeon & injectables). In her final year of training at Brown, she served as Chief Resident in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital.

Dr. Sheilah A. Lynch completed her training at Georgetown University in a fellowship program focusing on breast and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Lynch is a Board-Certified Neck Lift Surgeon practicing in Chevy Chase and Easton, Maryland. She has over 20+ years of experience in private practice devoted solely to cosmetic plastic surgery. Her special interests are in facial rejuvenation, including extended neck lifts and minimal incision facelifts. Dr. Lynch offers a variety of options for rejuvenation of the upper face, including brow-lift and eyelid surgery as well as integrates fat transfer to the lips and cheeks to minimize the full facelift. She has specialty training in breast surgery and especially enjoys combining augmentation, reduction, LIPO 360 with BBL surgeries, often called “Mommy Makeover.”
Research
During her plastic surgery residency training, Dr. Lynch conducted research on the treatment of malignant melanoma, a type of skin cancer, and presented her work at the Plastic Surgery Research Council in Galveston, Texas and at the Annual Meeting of the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in Woodstock, Vermont. The Plastic Surgery Education Foundation awarded her melanoma research with Best Research Paper at the Senior Residents’ Conference held in Birmingham, Alabama.
Working as a volunteer, Dr. Sheilah A. Lynch has been helpful on medical missions in Kenya, Africa with
Operation Smile International and in the Dominican Republic with Operation Luz del Sol.

My consultation was extremely thorough, and Dr. Lynch was so patient and informative helping me select the right size and profile of the implants, and weigh out the pros and cons of silicone vs saline. She checked in with me several times before and after the surgery, and gave me her cell number encouraging me to reach out if I had any questions or concerns. I had anticipated feelings of anxiety and stress before a major surgery, but Dr. Lynch made a potentially scary experience relaxing and reassuring. She had a detailed and caring conversation about the procedure with me before I was wheeled into the operating room. I felt SO relieved knowing that I had a Doctor who was so considerate and competent performing my surgery. I experienced some pain when I woke up from the surgery, but once I took the pain meds, I felt fine and they were only necessary for 3-4 days. The pain was manageable for those few days, and turned into a slight discomfort after a week. Two weeks post op, I was pain free. Dr Lynch sends you home with a Victorias Secret bra to wear after your compression bra comes off, which was so convenient because I DEFINITELY did not want to leave the house on pain meds to try on a bra. I had a little issue with a stitch that had become infected and stuck, but Dr Lynch answered my texts right away and helped me resolve the issue on my own at home. The incisions healed perfectly after that, and after a year and a half I can confidently say that the scars have disappeared. The implants dropped into place after about a year. The results are soft, perky and perfectly placed breasts. This woman is an absolute EXPERT and I have referred many people to her practice.
